- 요약This thesis consists of three essays on topics in health economics. The first essay studies regulation and adoption of new pharmaceutical products in the context of physician decision-making in prescribing. The second essay focuses on socio-economic determinants of health and examines externalities from education on health and the mechanisms behind this relationship. The third chapter explores socio-economic, environmental, and health-related factors contributing to racial disparities in the COVID-19 pandemic burden, arguably one of the most pressing issues at the time this chapter was written.
