- 요약The purpose of this study was to explore non-technical competencies of communication and teamwork behaviors among veterinary medicine students. Using qualitative narrative inquiry, data were collected from end-of-year goal course reflections after participants completed an interpersonal education program. The research study was considered through an interprofessional communication in healthcare perspective that acknowledged the context of student experiences in a southeastern land-grant university of the United States.The findings reflected that the behaviors developed during this course were reflective of communication and teamwork skills desired by students, educators, employers, and stakeholders both within and outside of the institution. The structure of the opportunity to develop interprofessional communication and teamwork skills among other members of healthcare professions was evaluated. The study provided future research recommendations for colleges of veterinary medicine and other healthcare professional schools to better support communication and teamwork development among veterinary medicine students.
