초록/해제
요약One of the main goals of clinical neuroscience is to identify biomarkers, or biological correlates which confer information about an individual's psychiatric diagnosis. In theory, these biomarkers could aid in diagnosis and treatment of psychiatric disorders. However, up to this point this goal has been elusive, as reliable biomarkers of psychiatric disorders have not been identified. In this dissertation, I discuss methodological (Chapter 1) and theoretical (Chapter 2) considerations for identifying neural correlates of psychiatric disorders in individuals. I then attempt to apply some of these principles to a longitudinal neuroimaging study of individuals with internalizing disorders (Chapter 3). Overall, I believe the research in this dissertation provides a path forward for using personalized measures of MRI and psychopathology to better identify neural correlates of psychopathology in individuals.
