■520    ▼aIn  this  paper,  I  lay  the  foundation  for  a  broader  discussion  of  the  impact  of  sexual  harassment  on  the  gender  composition  of  college  majors.  First,  I  focus  on  the  rates  of  sexual  harassment  experienced  by  different  groups  of  students  and  how  these  disparities  can  be  understood  through  the  framework  of  intersectionality.  In  the  next  paper,  I  will  focus  on  the  potential  of  sexual  harassment  to  alter  the  academic  paths  of  some  students,  so  it  is  crucial  for  my  argument  to  first  describe  the  scope  of  the  phenomenon  of  sexual  harassment  in  higher  education.Sexual  harassment  in  institutions  of  higher  education  has  long  been  the  focus  of  academic  inquiry  (Wood  et  al.  2021).  However,  accurate  rates  of  sexual  harassment  in  institutions  of  higher  education  have  been  difficult  to  establish  because  of  limitations  on  sample  size.  The  same  limitations  also  prevent  any  substantive  cross-tabulations  to  examine  sub-groups  among  students  who  might  be  more  impacted  than  others  by  sexual  harassment.
