- 요약Carbon fiber electrodes have been used in neuroscience labs for year to study electrical signals in the brain. While there are many benefits to the carbon fiber as an electrode, the electrode geometry has been limited to either small or sharpened sites. My first aim focuses on improving the carbon fiber electrode site such that it is small and sharp, allowing for less invasive, but more selective recording and stimulation in the nervous system. I will present my computation work that outlines the benefits of small vs large recording electrodes in nerves. Finally, I will discuss my work in making carbon fiber arrays open-source and accessible for neuroscience labs. This work focuses on optimizing carbon fiber electrode tips for use in future neuroscience and clinical applications.
