- 요약The transition from academia to clinical practice poses significant challenges for new graduate nurses (NGNs), particularly in high-acuity settings such as critical care. Nurse residency programs equip NGNs with the skills, confidence, and professional development to navigate complex clinical environments. UNC Hospitals designed the Critical and Progressive Care (CPC) curriculum to support this transition by integrating simulation, case studies, mock events, and didactic instruction instead of traditional computer-based learning modules (CBLM). This Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) project evaluated the effectiveness of the revised CPC curriculum using the Kirkpatrick Model, which measures outcomes across four levels: Reaction, Learning, Behavior, and Results. Data collection methods included surveys, assessments, interviews, observations, and outcome metrics. The evaluation aimed to determine how well the revised curriculum enhanced NGNs' critical care knowledge, confidence, and ability to apply learned skills in practice. Findings from this project provide insights into the impact of simulation-based learning on NGN development and contribute to best practices in nurse residency program implementation and sustainability.
