■520    ▼aThis  dissertation  investigates  how  gender  transition,  spiritual  incorporation,  and  child  play  perform  the  undoing  of  fixed  and  individualized  subjectivity.  At  the  intersection  of  these  multitudinous  practices,  we  propose  the  transcestral  encounter  as  the  generative  site  of  an  ancestral  sociality  that  is  irreducible  to  the  linearity  of  heterocentered  reproduction.  To  do  so,  this  dissertation  takes  up  practices  present  in  Afro-Brazilian  religions  -  particularly  in  Umbanda  -  to  propose  a  "faithful  theory"  structured  on  a  cosmology  that  challenges  ideas  of  solitude  and  self-possession.  This  dissertation  takes  up  Travesti  -  a  word  used  in  Brazil  and  Latin  America  -  as  a  critical  lens  mediating  transgender  life  at  the  crossroads  of  racialization  and  gender  disobedience  to  engender  an  indeterminable  enforming  ontology,  always  in  transition.Chapter  1  revolves  around  Brazilian  transgender  artist  and  activist  Leona  Vingativa,  particularly  through  close  readings  of  the  early  videos  that  led  to  her  viral  online  popularity.  Informed  by  performance  studies,  queer  and  critical  race  theory,  and  post-structuralist  philosophy,  we  speculate  on  the  interplay  between  Leona's  irreverent  practices  of  self-creation  and  the  improvisational  games  played  with  her  friends.  In  Chapter  2  we  articulate  a  disbelief  in  solitude  through  different  renderings  of  spiritual  presence  or  ancestral  guidance  in  music  and  creative  writing.  Chapter  3  is  focused  on  child  play  as  the  engendering  of  philosophical  devices,  particularly  in  the  context  of  Umbanda's  sacred  space  -  the  terreiro.  The  playful  propositions  of  our  six-year-old  friend  lead  to  a  reading  of  Lia  Garcia's  generative  transgender  motherhood  in  the  poemario  Hay  algo  de  nina  en  mi....
■520    ▼asta  dissertacao  investiga  como  a  transicao  de  genero,  a  incorporacao  espiritual  e  as  brincadeiras  infantis  performam  o  desmonte  da  subjetividade  fixa  e  individualizada.  Na  intersecao  de  praticas  tao  multiplas,  propomos  o  encontro  transcestral  como  o  espaco  gerador  de  uma  socialidade  ancestral  irredutivel  a  linearidade  da  reproducao  heterocentrada.  Para  isso,  esta  dissertacao  se  debruca  sobre  praticas  presentes  nas  religioes  afro-brasileiras  -  particularmente  na  Umbanda  -  para  propor  uma  "teoria  fiel",  estruturada  em  uma  cosmologia  que  desafia  as  ideias  de  solidao  e  autopossessao.  A  dissertacao  adota  Travesti  -  palavra  usada  no  Brasil  e  na  America  Latina  -  como  lente  critica  que  media  a  vida  transgenero  na  encruzilhada  entre  racializacao  e  desobediencia  de  genero,  engendrando  uma  ontologia  indeterminavel,  sempre  em  formacao  e  transicao.O  Capitulo  1  gira  em  torno  da  artista  e  ativista  transgenero  brasileira  Leona  Vingativa,  particularmente  por  meio  de  leituras  dos  primeiros  videos  que  levaram  a  sua  popularidade  viral  na  internet.  Informadas  pelos  estudos  da  performance,  teoria  queer,  teoria  racial  critica  e  filosofia  pos-estruturalista,  especulamos  sobre  a  relacao  entre  as  praticas  irreverentes  de  autocriacao  de  Leona  e  as  brincadeiras  improvisados  com  suas  amigas.  No  Capitulo  2,  articulamos  uma  descrenca  na  solidao  atraves  de  diferentes  manifestacoes  de  presenca  espiritual  ou  guianca  ancestral  na  musica  e  na  escrita  criativa.  O  Capitulo  3  foca  nas  brincadeiras  infantis  como  engendradoras  de  dispositivos  filosoficos,  especialmente  no  contexto  do  espaco  sagrado  da  Umbanda  -  o  terreiro.  As  ludicas  proposicoes  filosoficas  de  uma  crianca  de  seis  anos  conduzem  a  uma  leitura  da  generatividade  proposta  por  Lia  Garcia  atraves  de  uma  gravidez  transgenero  no  poemario  Hay  algo  de  nina  en  mi....
