- 요약The purpose of this treatise is to contribute to collaborative piano pedagogy, specifically for pre-collegiate instrumental duos. Collaboration with peers in school music programs is a beneficial experience for pre-collegiate piano students, and Solo and Ensemble festivals are low-pressure performance opportunities for these pianists to build collaborative skills. However, piano instructors currently have minimal resources to guide their students in gaining collaborative skills or learning collaborative repertoire in a pedagogical sequence. This treatise evaluates and sequences four clarinet pieces which are frequently performed at Florida Solo and Ensemble based on their pedagogical benefits and challenges for pre-collegiate collaborative pianists. Each chapter evaluates the piece based on the piano skills, ensemble skills, and expressivity required for the duo to rehearse and perform the piece. Rehearsal techniques and coaching suggestions are incorporated throughout the chapters. A coaching guide is included for each piece which lists the specific skills that the pianist will be developing and additional suggested repertoire for the pianist at that level of the sequence. The guides are designed so that piano instructors and ensemble directors will both benefit and engage in the coaching process, and they can be used as a framework for coaching pre-collegiate collaborative pianists and their instrumental partners.
