초록/해제
요약This doctoral project focuses on vocal cross-training, emphasizing the ways musical theatre training can supplement and even advance the technique of classical singers. Recognizing the validity and importance of the "hybrid-singer," as several like-minded colleagues have explored, this document pushes further, investigating cross-training's potential to diversify the performance abilities of a singer and highlight the advantages of cross-training in musical theatre technique. The document includes a literature review, surveying the field as it currently stands, interviews with expert cross-training teachers, and summaries of applied and observed voice lessons with each expert teacher.
