- 요약The Chevalier de Saint-Georges, a classical composer born of a French plantation owner and one of his slaves on Christmas Day 1745, composed dozens of pieces, many of which were lost during the French Revolution. The composer and his works remained largely unedited and underrepresented from his death occurring in 1799 until the last decade, when the classical music community began intentionally to seek out works by artists of color. Among the unedited pieces titled Recueil d'airs et duos avec orchestre, or Collection of Airs and Duets with Orchestra.The purpose of this project is to provide a performable first edition of this Recueil, in both full score and parts, including a piano-vocal score. A translation from French to English, brief historical analysis of the composer, and editorial processes are also included.
