- 요약For over two decades, Adam Silverman's works for percussion ensemble have been staples of the literature, with performances by ensembles from across the world. However, a detailed examination of these works has never been done. Given the prominence of Silverman's repertoire within the medium, and the significant amount of repertoire he has contributed to the percussion ensemble canon, a study of his works seems most appropriate.Each chapter of this document will be solely dedicated to a work of Silverman's: The Cruel Waters, Spiderweb Lead, Quick Blood, Pittering/Pattering, Naked and on Fire, Gasoline Rainbow, Sparklefrog, and Pounding Fists. Each of these pieces will be reviewed, addressing all important background information, instrumentation, set-up concerns and other logistical challenges, and challenging individual and ensemble moments musically.The goal is to document the difficulties of each of Silverman's works and provide helpful solutions to the performing ensemble or director. This will be useful for musicians and ensemble directors alike, providing specific practice and rehearsal strategies that may be applicable to works outside the scope of this study.
