- 요약Reflective practice is the process where individuals learn from their own experiences by examining their actions, assumptions, and outcomes (Osterman & Kottkamp, 2004). Understanding reflective practice in SBAE is essential for ensuring that agricultural educators are equipped to continuously improve their classroom practices by making evidence-based decisions. The purpose of this qualitative multiple-case study was to understand the reflective practices of SBAE teachers. The question driving this work was, "What are SBAE teachers' experiences with reflective practice?"This multiple-case study drew on narrative analysis techniques to analyze themes within and across two subcases: roles and career stages of SBAE teachers. The primary data for this study were from 40-minute semi-structured interviews conducted with 24 agricultural educators. Field notes, memos, and reflexive journaling were used to triangulate the data. The trustworthiness of these findings was supported through reflexivity, member checking, and providing rich and thick descriptions of the data. This research explored SBAE teachers' reflective practices in two subcases, roles, and career stages. In the roles subcase, reflective practices of student teachers (STs) and Cooperating Teachers (CTs) were explored and four themes emerged (a) benefits of reflective practice, (b) challenges of reflective practice, (c) student teachers' reasons for reflection, and (d) individual tools vs. collaborative reflection. In the career stages subcase, three themes emerged (a) career stage differences in reflection, (b) tools and strategies for reflection, and (c) reflection habits. Reflection prompts were analyzed in a cross-group analysis of the entire case and student teacher, early career, middle career, and late career teacher's reflective practices were characterized. Three themes emerged across the entire case (a) observational reflection s on teaching, (b) reflecting on the pedagogical aspects of teaching, and (c) reflecting on the social-emotional aspects of teaching. The findings from this study indicate that SBAE teachers reflect on their teaching methods, classroom management, and instructional planning and are concerned different aspects of with student learning, engagement, and achievement throughout their career. A second finding suggests that SBAE teachers engage in individual and collaborative reflective practice using different tools and strategies throughout their careers. These findings suggest that SBAE teacher's development of reflective practices should be intentionally guided and supported based on their career stage. Findings related to reflection typologies suggest that SBAE teachers use reflective practice to: (a) observe and describe their teaching practices to identify "What went well? What didn't go well?" and "What could be improved?" (b) reflect on pedagogical aspects of their teaching such as teaching methods, classroom management, and instructional planning, and (c) facilitate personal and professional growth and address the social-emotional dimensions of teaching. These findings suggest that the development of SBAE teacher's reflective practice should be supported through structures for facilitating deeper reflective thinking. This exploratory research contributes to a foundational understanding of how agricultural educators in various roles and career stages process their teaching experiences to develop their teaching skills and enhance student learning. This work has implications for reflective practice in SBAE teacher education programs, mentorship for in-service SBAE teachers, and professional development of agricultural educators. Recommendations are offered for practice, policy, and future research to support more robust and effective reflective practices in SBAE to benefit teacher's personal and professional growth and enhance student learning outcomes.
