- 요약This research investigates how music composition practice can reconfigure perceptual and embodied experiences when the score is not a static representation of musical thought but an interface that mediates rules and parameters for musical actions. The starting point of the discussion is situated in contemporary practices of music composition and digital media, conceptualizing alternative scoring methods as performative environments and addressing the creative agencies that participate in them. In this document, I present a portfolio of compositions created during my doctoral studies at Arizona State University (from 2022 to 2025) as a practice-based methodology on strategies of reciprocal relationships between sound, image, and the performer's response. Each work demonstrates how alternative scoring can articulate concepts that couldn't be conveyed through traditional notation, working directly with the source materials, subjects, and imaginative experiences that inscribe themselves in other media. From a phenomenological perspective, the dissertation also reflects on how performers interact with the scores, emphasizing the affordances and limitations of these systems as compositional tools. Lastly, studying the score as an agent in musical discourse serves the purpose of contributing to ongoing creative practice investigations on digital notation, comprovisation (as coined by Sandeep Bhagwati), and technologically mediated performance.
