- 요약This project explores Rupa Dance piano and orchestra, composed by Xuntian He in 2009, It is divided into three parts: an introduction with style study, an original piano reduction of the orchestra part, and a performance guide. Xuntian He's works occupy a very important position in modern Chinese music. The Rupa Dance represents a synthesis of his many groundbreaking musical styles and composition techniques. Scholarly research on this work has been mainly seen in degree theses and music reviews, with primary focus on form and musical style as well as the composer's pioneering composition methods. According to the composer, there are currently no published two-piano scores with reduction of the orchestral parts to a second piano. The author has provided his two-piano score with permission from the composer. In addition, the study will discuss several key issues to include suggestions for creating piano reductions that are more playable (i.e. pianistic) than is often encountered. Suggestions for the playing of less pianistic score reductions in the concerto literature will also be provided.
