- 요약Currently there is a gulf between academic research into accessible game design and the methods used by developers to accomplish the task of designing games that are both financially successful and physically accessible for a wide range of impaired players, and yet, given the wild success of games such as Insomniac's Marvel's Spiderman series which is known both for its overall quality and for its accessibility for the disabled, it seems clear that there are concerted efforts underway by developers to make games that are accessible in addition to being financially successful. In this qualitative study, the author interviews thirteen senior-level game developers across three studios that are each well-known for their efforts to include disabled gamers in their core experience. The author takes data gleaned from interviews and applies latent and semantic coding as well as a Requirements Engineering framework to answer the question "How do accessible, financially successful video games get made?" As a result, this study indicates a brand-new framework for approaching accessibility and a series of decision-making matrices to assist developers in accomplishing accessible design.
