- 요약"Scope and method of study. The purpose of this project is to develop the parent training program for their children's education in a Christian environment. The scope of this study was restricted to the church members of Changwon First Evangelical Holiness Church. Only those who were between ages 35 through 50 and their children between the ages of 13 through 20 were selected. The participants were diverse; from the ordained deacon who had been a Christian for over 20 years to the layman who attended church for less than two years. The researcher studied several cases of families in the Bible who succeeded in educating their children and those who failed. He also studied Christian education historically. He reviewed several doctoral projects in this area and studied the major theories in children's education and parents' education. Based on these studies, the researcher recruited the participants and educated them for 10 weeks with the materials he developed. He recruited 10 couples (20 people) for the Treatment Group and another 10 couples (20 people) as the Control Group. Both groups received two tests; a pretest and a posttest to distinguish the difference before and after the training and to compare those who received the training from those who did not. Although the Treatment Group received training for 10 weeks, those in the Control Group did not receive any special training except for attending regular church services and activities such as GBS, LTC, and evangelism outreach. Findings and conclusions. The researcher discovered the following: (1) many of the parents lost their authorities as parents, (2) many of them did not know how to educate their children because they did not have a clear goal in educating them, (3) their dialogue with their children were hindered, and (4) they did not have the confidence and conviction as parents in educating their children. Parents could not introduce Yahweh God correctly because something blocked their spirituality. They did not know the biblical necessities of nurturing and caring for their children, so the relationship between the parents and children was not healthy. They did not realize that they should make their home as God wanted, so their children could not undertake their roles successfully in the societies they belonged to. They did not have a clear identity as a parent, so they could not fully feel a sense of belonging within the church or society. Their role as a parent was not fulfilled successfully. Since they did not have the vision as a parent, they could not suggest a vision for their family. Moreover, many of them did not have the conviction as a parent in educating their children. This background revealed the necessity of training the parents for educating their children. The researcher realized that the parents should be changed before educating the children. He concluded that parent training should be done at the same time as the children's education in the church. After completing the training the researcher found that there were five major changes in parents. First, through prayer and word education, the parents who participated in the training were spiritually matured. Second, the parents who participated in the training realized what was most needed in nurturing and caring for their children biblically. Third, the parents who participated in the training began to see their family and home from a different perspective. Fourth, the parents who participated in the training began to understand their children more through various dialogues with them. Fifth, the parents who participated in the training began to find God's vision for their family"
